Our Pharmacy service at Aneurin Bevan University Health board aims to provide safe, home to home, timely, patient focused care, to empower patients to stay healthy, to improve health, to reduce harm and maximize efficiencies from medicines.

With roles across primary and secondary care and multi-sector training there has never been a more exciting time to join our team.

Pharmacists

Pharmacists are experts in medicines and as one of the fastest growing areas of healthcare play a key role in improving the health of the nation and ensuring patient safety.

Our pharmacists work across secondary care and primary care providing advice to patients and healthcare professions to maximise benefit and minimise risk associated with medicines.

Pharmacy technicians

The role of a pharmacy technician has developed significantly in recent years, working across primary and secondary care the role is diverse with patient focus.

Our pharmacy technicians manage and prepare the supply of medicines whilst giving advice to patients and healthcare professions. They can be involved in the manufacture of medicines such as chemotherapy and work closely with Pharmacists.

Pharmacy assistant

Our Pharmacy assistants are integral members of the pharmacy team. They are responsible for dispensing various types of prescriptions for patients, ordering and receiving deliveries and preparing medication.

Within hospital they work closely with the pharmacist and technician at ward level preparing medicines for patients to go home.
